Was at Aldi earlier today and there were a few people buying "Lacura", One couple said they swore by it for a number of reasons and then a family of two adults and two kids almost joined in giving the product a big thumbs up. I went on line when I came home to get some reviews and it seems the product is well up there with the best of them. So watch this space because at £2.79 a bottle it's either gonna be a hit or a big miss, bust as I read in Which magazine, price in this case is irrelevant. If youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0

Has anyone had problems with P20 not soaking in? I used the f30 and the f50 on holiday last week and both sat on my skin in a greasy way, rubbing off on everything - this was all day, not just for 15-30 mins. Possibly this is why I burned on the first day after 45 mins in the sun. I stopped using shower gel in case the silicone was a problem (it used to be but wasn't mentioned in the instructions this time).
I'm in a quandary, I've used P20 for about 10 years as I'm allergic to most other sun creams but if it's going to leave me slick and yellow and not actually work then what else is there?0 -
OH swears by using this, have used it for years.
I get told to put it on, as I don't go lobster red, just golden brown, but now I use it, non greasy and smells ok too.

It's hard to find a 'best' sunscreen as no one, not even Cancer Research, can make such a wide encompassing recommendation. The best thing is to wear a high factor (30 or above). The EU also recommends that sunscreens offer a UVA protection factor that is a third of their SPF to be considered effective protection against UVA ie. Factor 30 has a UVA protection factor of at least 10.
However, an article in yesterday's Guardian reports that sunscreen doesn't stop someone getting malignant melanoma, it merely delays the inevitable

That answers why I have been battling malignant melanoma for 5 years (then had 13 years remission) before battling it again for the last 5 years. Didn't matter how much sun cream I used in my younger years it still got me at age 39. Since then I use sunscreen but I always wear long sleeves & trousers & a hat when out & about & I never sunbathe. Even so it returned (the original having spread into my lymph nodes & waited 13 years before poking it's head above the parapet again).0 -

I came back last night from Egypt which was mega hot at this time of year. I used the Aldi Sun cream (plus common sense!) I have a nice golden tan and no redness or soreness. I am off to buy some more tomorrow.0 -

P20 is fantastic both for lasting all day and if you do actually want a bit of a tan but not to burn the tan achieved is good using their lower factors.
I do echo others though in that it stains everything very badly and no amount of washing/ products fully restores a white t-shirt afterwards. Didnt have any problems with it "soaking in" when using what I considered a sensible amount for the area of skin to be covered. I think it did leave me a tiny bit "greasy" but not really anything significantly different to normal suntan creams and not to the extent of it either being uncomfortable or causing sand to stick etc.0 -
I used P20 but I had an allergic reaction. I am currently using Boots Soltan once, its still on trial. That blasted Piz Buin is a danger, see links.

Makes people swell up so they have to take steroids which is terrible. :eek:0 -
I personally use Malibu suncream or Tesco's own brand. Have never burnt yet with them. Nivea was a no-go for me, and the Calypso one I may aswell have not put any on at all I burnt that quick. Boots Suncream is OK but I still burn with that, so I sick with the Malibu or Tesco's own. I've had Asda's own brand for the children this year for the first time, and have to say I am impressed with it for them, so will be using that on them when we go away.
My neighbour on the other hand swears by Avon's suncream.
Would love to try this Aldi one you are all talking about but we don't have those here
