Using visa vanquis abroad??

in Credit cards
Hi all. This is my first post and hoping you can give me some advice.
I know it's not very smart to use a vanquis card at all but I am usually very careful and always pay each statement in full to a vapid interest so please no negative comments as I have no choice!
Basically I am booked to have a tummy tuck done in Prague in a few weeks time. My partner said he would help me pay it but now that won't be able to happen.
My surgery will cost at the most £3500, I will be able to get £2500 so what is the best way to use £1000 from my vanquis card?
I originally was going to ask for vanquis to transfer it direct to my bank but then interest will be charged daily and I don't want to get myself in a hole. Would it be best for me to use my card to pay the balance in Prague?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

If you don't pay the balance in full the interest is charged daily on purchases as well - since the day of each purchase. If you withdraw or transfer money the interest just starts earlier and is likely to be higher than on purchases. Check your card Summary Box - representative rates are 40% and 50% correspondingly. Also cash withdrawal/transfer costs 3%.
So, it's better to pay by the card abroad if they accept card payments. Vanquis will charge you 3% for conversion, but this is less than you'd pay for a cash advance and buying euros/korunas.0 -

Be very careful with doing this. £1000 on your Vanquis card, depending on what interest rate you have, if you don't pay it off within the month you could easily end up paying £50 just in interest per month.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -
Oh..that's really true! If you do not play safe, you would end up paying a lot of money at the end. I had a tummy tuck last year from Dr.Mclean's clinic, Toronto, and in my case some medical reasons were there to do the surgery so it was covered up along with the insurance and it really saved me a lot.0

How long have you had the Vanquis? If you've built up some credit history, it might be worth applying for a card with a lower purchase rate or even a 0% introductory offer.0
