Hello,
I am a long time lurker.I have had many LBM's in the past, the light has burned bright for a while and then faded. This time I will keep motivated with the help of this diary.
I have £24,000 worth of debt,I want to pay this off over the next 52 months, I will be 50 then.
I have a loan and three Credit Cards. Two Credit Cards are 0% and hopefully the third will be as well.
Planning on making savings by:
Growing and own fruit and veg.
Menu Planning (also trying to lose weight on the S.W diet.)
Using a shopping list.
Survey Sites (already collecting Ad Points and Newvista)
Selling on Amazon and Ebay.
Taking extra shifts where possible.
Also I am looking to save a small emergancy fund of £300 to start with, I have £95.00 in a Building Society Account so a good start.
I have just registered for Money Dash Board, I can see all my accounts in one place, Bank account, savings and credit cards, not making nice reading at the moment but a big motivational tool.
Thank you for reading.

Best of luck, you seem to have a sensible plan.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st 1lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Progress not perfection.:T100%through my 1% mortgage challenge. 100% through my pb challenge. I’m not perfect but I’m good enough.0

I never saved much if anything by growing my own veg. The costs of growing it was too high. You need to take into account the cost of the water (very high-a sprinkler/hose running for just 20 minutes a day adding up to 2 hours a week could use about 1,000 litres which in my area costs £2/week), any pesticides (if any), the replacement tools needed etc... The quality was excellent but it came at a price.
Survey sites are good but they just take up too much time generally earning less than half minimum wage.
Switching gas/electric/phone/broadband suppliers regularly returns the greatest for the time spent on the task.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Thank you In need of direction and HappyMJ for stopping by.
HappyMJ I have a small garden and green house and I have a couple of water butts to collect rain water. I am planning on growing salad stuff so hopefully a small saving over the summer. Just been given 6 lovely bags of compost. All our utility's have been switch and we put a set amount each into the bills account.
The debt I have is mine and husband knows I have debt but not the true figure. Any savings I can make will go towards my debt.0 -
Went grocery shopping yesterday after work and spent £45.42. Meal plan done up until next Sunday. Trying to use up things i have already got to fit in with my SW diet, lost 9ib in 4 weeks, feeling very pleased with myself.:j Not eaten a bar of chocolate, a packet of crips, a piece of cake or a biscuit in 4 week,:A and there was none in this weeks shop.:A Will need to buy some fruit and bread on Tuesday. So today Saturday and Sunday will be a NSD's.
My plan for the Bank Holiday weekend is to paint my livingroom. I have white paint for the ceiling and i am going to mix my own white with a hint of grey for the walls, have some light grey paint left from another room. Im sure there is some wood stain in the garage for the wood work.
So a busy weekend planned for me as long as I am not called into work as Im on call
