computer details
1.6ghz
1024 ram, 64mb built in graphics card
XP sp3
motherboard: ms 7142
i purchased a Nvidia fx500 card with 128mb as YouTube was a touch laggy on full hd but otherwise it seemed to work OK, for day to day stuff, i thought new card may make it smoother
i installed the new card, updated drivers but the video was really lagging on everything and the computer is slower, so i rolled back drivers but still the same.
Ive uninslled the new card and drivers but now the integrated graphics card is also slow and youtube is lagging on everything, with video and sound out of sync.
ive been in the bios but can find anything relevant, anyhow the comp seems to recognize and load the cards by itself
does anyone have any ideas why its slower

It's always going to suffer with Full HD.

Not sure if it would help, but have you tried disabling the integrated graphics in the BIOS settings when using the add-on card...?0

Ive also noticed the plugincontainer.exe goes high when playing YouTube or other video, i think this could be the problem.
not sure how to get everything back to normal0 -

If you haven't backed up your data, you'll get no sympathy from anyone here.0

I've tried the xp repair with the new card installed but still the same lagging.
I'll do malware antimalware scan, If it does not work, I'll remove the new card and try the xp repair with the integrated card. it that does not work I'm stuffed0
