Too Late?

Wish I'd found this site earlier! I think I may be too late to do anything about a parking charge my partner received as car owner, when I was driving. I wrote to the parking company to appeal the PCN and informed them I was the driver (I know, mistake number 1 of many) and to therefore correspond with me. The charge was for parking in a visitor space in a private gated residence where my daughter lives without a valid permit on display. I had previously been told on 3 separate occasions a permit wasn't necessary so stupidly didn't check on this occasion (other cars parked without permits visible too) and my partner subsequently received the PCN. The appeal has obviously been refused and they've given the option of POPLA appeal but I don't know if I (or my partner) should do this as I've already said he wasn't driving the car. There were signs displayed on the site so I can't argue on that point. Any advice would be very welcome. I have to pay up £60 within 14 days or appeal to POPLA and risk an increased charge of £100.

    Use the generic POPLA appeal.
Post your draft here first for advice.
Compliant signage is not whether they are there or not, but whether they fulfil all the regulations. Chances are they are no compliant! The onus is on them to prove that they are, not for you to prove they aren't.
