Thanks all, I think I get the point they're not agreed, just targets.

I just need to get it hurried along a bit if possible so we can meet those targets!

The point here is the OP can't contact either solicitor as they are his vendor's and their vendor's.

No, but he can contact his own solicitor, which is what I meant!

Completion dates are meaningless until you have exchanged. They are targets at best.

    This is my understanding also.

I didn't quote you, as my comment wasn't aimed at you.

TBH I hadn't even seen your post as I started typing it before you posted, but couldn't finish it because I was stuck on the phone.

I was explaining to the earlier exponents of "hassle the solicitor."

We were ready to exchange at 12 today. To complete on Friday. I said all along I wanted longer to not have to stress. Still no exchange, but I am 90% sure it will still all go through. Luckily we have until 1 June in our rental, but we are so worried about tempting fate we have packed nothing, and booked no removals (can do it ourselves if need be)

My celebratory glass of wine is going to turn into 1/2 bottle of drowning my sorrows tonight.

Best of luck with yours - once the last paperwork turns up it all happens very quickly

Just a quick update. We exchanged Friday, complete Thursday, and we're moving this Friday. It all happens very quickly once you're ready! Yikes!
