Appeal ignored

Hi guys, just some advice please.

A friend of mine has been issued with a parking ticket so appealed to the company with the usual appeal reasons and requested a POPLA code if the appeal was rejected and didnt hear anything back from them. They have now received a letter from a debt recovery company in relation to not paying the parking charge.

What would be the next move? Go straight to BPA and complain they are not following the BPA code of practice? and also would it be worth complaining to POPLA about them not giving a POPLA Code?

Many thanks in advance
Jes

No point complaining to POPLA. Complain to the BPA. Also complain to the parking company, include any proof that shows the appeal was sent. Also, it might be worth your friend contacting the debt collection agency telling them the alleged debt is disputed and not to contact her again.

#1 Did they appeal a windscreen or postal ticket?

#2 How long after the date of #1 did they send in an appeal?

    #3 Which PPC is this?

Thanks for the replys guys but i have been told that they received another letter today saying the charge has been revoked lol.

Originally it was a windscreen ticket issued in December and they ignored it. they told me about it once they got a registered keeper notice in Feb to which they then sent the appeal off a few days later. it was Friday morning (so 2 months from appeal) they got the letter from debt recovery and got the cancellation letter this morning.

But if something like this in the future happened are you best to put a letter of complaint in straight to the BPA?

You don't say whether this is in England or Wales or who the ticketers are, can you supply both please?

An idea that appeals to my sense of irony is to solicit donations from people that have been to court and were awarded costs. The idea of using a scammers oops I mean deceiptful companies own money to defeat them is awesome

sorry, this was in England. The parking charges were from Shield Security but not sure who the debt recovery was from.

They are BPA AOS members. If they had persisted then yep, the keeper could have emailed the BPA to complain about an ignored appeal and denial of POPLA, and going to debt collector stage when they are meant to stop work on a case.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
