Its that time of year again for planting out bedding plants.But really when is the best time some say the 1st of June should be no frost then .If i plant them out now will it make any difference the long range weather says no frost so it should be OK .What are peoples preferences when planting out .:beer:

Depends on where you live.
I looked at a frost map type thing and early May is ok for me, sometimes earlier as my garden is very sheltered. If I leave it till June I feel like I've missed the boat.

I hardened mine off ages back, they've been in the ground a couple of weeks after the long-range forecast reckoned no more cold snaps. I'm in Glasgow

I am East Coast Scotland. We had a ground frost last week. I have started planting out over the last couple of days as I reckon the frosts should be finished now.

Last frost we had was a couple of weeks ago, hope for no more as I've taken glass panels out of the green house to help ventilation.

i'm in the midlands, i've had some bedding plants outside in their pots since April, more went out at the beginning of this month, and more still this past weekend. None of them have frosted, the bacopa and begonias from april are growing very well, the lobelia and verbena are slower but getting there. The mimulas, lobelia, and petunias from the beginning of this month are really starting to take hold now, I think they will all start flowering very shortly (I bought them all as plug plants, 12 to a tray from B&Q, 20p a tray).
