parking eye help needed

Hi all,

first time on this forum and need some expert help.A couple of weeks ago i parked my car at one of the big four supermarket car parks run by parking eye, having offered my elderly mother some help with the shopping, any way although there were no instructions on how to register your car number plate on the actual machine, and pay your £1 parking fee for two hours stay,(there was a sign placed above but no instructions on how to obtain your ticket),after a couple of attempts i manage to get the pay machine to issue me a ticket and displaying the ticket on the dash board, thought nothing more of it, until about a week and 2 days later i got a pcn issued to me.

Unfortunately my mother threw her receipt away after so many days and i threw the parking ticket away after it was in my car for 5 days.

Any thing i can do? Thank you.

You can appeal the parking charge, use the template contained within the Newbies sticky thread.

Also, go to the supermarket and kick up a bit of a stink, they can often get them cancelled.

thanks that was going to be my next step, than i would have to appeal though popla as i believe these guy's 99% turn down your appeal, parking eye are trying to get me for not paying for a ticket even though i payed.

they are quoting paragraph 9(2)(b) of the protection of freedoms act

if that was the case how come the ticket issuing machine issued me a ticket?

Was this ticket machine one of the ones that you type your registration into? If so, if you're sure you put the correct registration number in you could add this to the appeal to Parking Eye.

And yes, POPLA would be your step after appealing to Parking Eye.

yes one of those machines took me 3 attempts,no instructions on the machine on what you need to do.

i.e enter reg no. and insert money etc

Ok, probably worth throwing that into the appeal as well.

Exactly, that's why they lose at POPLA when appealed on 'no GPEOL' (see the 'newbies' sticky FAQs thread near the top of the forum for acronyms & info).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
