On my most recent appeal rejection from Parking Eye it was listed as POPLA Ref, directly under the Parking Charge Notice Number on the left hand side of the first page under my address.

The POPLA code is a 10 digit number and for ParkingEye usually starts with 606

The POPLA ref in a recent rejection letter I received from P E was quoted in the same position on the letter as da_rule describes.

But in addition they provided details regarding appealing to POPLA and a POPLA Appeal form on which the boxes for vehicle reg., PCN number and Operator name were pre-filled and the POPLA verification was in the bottom left hand corner.

Thanks to everyone that's replied. There's definately no POPLA reference on the letters.

I've uploaded the letters to tinypic.

I've only blurred out the PE reference my address and date/location of the penalty notice.

    thanks

lee.evo, my letters where slightly different to one of yours, your first one was saying for patrons only, mine said it was a rejection of invalid invoice? dont know if this has helped?

This definitely seems to be a new Parking Eye tactic. I compared this to my own PE letter. On mine the POPLA code was immediately below the Reference number for the PCN.

Seems like they are trying to make it harder for you to appeal to POPLA. This is the third one in as many days.

The rejection of invalid invoice is a common waste of paper they send out too.

How do PE know that the car park was used for 'visits elsewhere' (link #1 above) when they are using simple ANPR cameras?

And I guess that statement might need to be checked very carefully against planning permission given for that specific store.

Are there other stores directly connected to the Aldi car park, because even when there are (and for whom the car park is a shared provision) PE still put up signs 'Aldi Customers Only'.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I did shop in the store, unfortunately I paid cash and don't have the receipt. But my objection is the 4 minutes over, it was a Saturday afternoon and just trying to exit the car park took several minutes. I was parked near the back and the traffic entering the car park held everyone up while they waited for spaces.
I would not have been 4 minutes over if I'd had a clear exit to leave.

Anyways Thank You to everyone thats helped thus far.. I've now sent a letter to PE and the BPA so will update when I have had a response.

    Regards
    Lee.

and if you had read the recent fistral beach transcript or case (check parking pranksters site as well as on here and pepipoo) the judge there clearly stated that parking means parked , not waiting to get a space nor to leave a car park with a blocked or slow moving traffic at the exit , nor the usual rule of 5 minutes or more grace to read the parking terms and conditions on the signs , and comply or leave

    hence an extra appeal point
