Do i just put in the money claim?

Hi, i am in the process of reclaiming bank charges from Natwest to the value of £810. I have sent the 3 letters as Martin suggests and i got no response to any, suprise suprise! Then i read some posts on here and saw that alot of people were emailing there banks, so i did the same and after a week i got a reply saying my claim had been verified and i should already have a letter or be getting one shortly with an offer, but if i didnt receive it then to email back and they would send another letter. I received this email on the 21st june and i was going on holiday on the 23rd for 2 weeks. I didnt get the letter before i left for hols but thought it would be waiting for me when i got home. But suprise suprise no letter. So i am unsure what to do now, do i contact them again and wait another week for a reply or do i just go ahead and put in the money claim (i would rather do this and claim interest aswell!) But i dont want to start the claim and then have my bank turn round and say we have already agreed to pay but she didnt get the letter. I dont want to start the claim and pay the £80 fee to do this and then loose that fee as they have already said they will send me an offer.
Can anyone help me please, im getting fed up with this now as its been going on for 4 months so far.
