Payment failed with RingGo app

I tried paying via the RingGo app yesterday but the payment didn't go through. When I realised I hadn't received my reeipt by email, I paid for the day's parking. In the meantime though, I was given a ticket. Is this sufficient grounds for appeal or should I just pay the fine? It's from a private company that is BPA approved.

    Hi Liz,
Providing you live in England or Wales then the advice is to appeal the charge.
The circumstances won't win an appeal but the legal arguments you will find in the NEWBIES sticky thread will.

As you received a windscreen ticket (classed as a Notice to Driver) it is usually best to wait for a postal notice (Notice to Keeper) but we need to know who the parking company are - as it can matter in terms of the advice.

'BPA approved' means nothing much at all. Please read the sticky thread for NEWBIES and if this is a railway station you should send the template appeal NOW because if it's NCP, Meteor and CP Plus, they play silly games if you follow the usual advice & wait for the first letter.

Do read the sticky thread and use the template verbatim - this is not won by writing a 'normal' appeal about what happened! But it will be won at POPLA (unless it's CP Plus and a 'penalty' charge?). Which PPC is it?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The parking ticket came from County Parking Enforcement Agency.

OK they are quite small so check they are an AOS member with the BPA or IPC (Google) and if so then send the template 1st appeal (from the NEWBIES thread) now, early.
