itunes library on external hard drive

Looking for bit of advice on how to reorganise my music. I use itunes but most of my music is dowloaded cds which I play on my ipod. Irecently removed my music from my laptop and transferred it to an external hard drive. Only problem is all of the music seems to have copied fine, but into a seperate folder for each artist. Itunes now wont play my library as it does not seem to be able to find the music. I have changed the settings in itunes to make library location the F drive but no luck. How do I make itunes default to where the music is?

If you have moved the files you will need to rebuild the library. By default iTunes does sort music files using a folder per artist and a subfolder per album. If you dont want this you can turn off the keep organised in the options.
