Verticillium wilt
Damson continues to die a slow death, a friend who has a part time gardening business thinks its got verticillium wilt, I've removed a branch and it does seem to have the characteristic staining patterns (although branches are small so difficult to be 100%).
I'm really sad
I'm waiting to see if friend comes up with any possible alternatives it might have got that I can try treating it for, but if not, then I know I have to burn the tree
but what do I do with the soil? - it's in a very large pot, I don't want the fungus spores spread if I remove the soil and I can't physically remove the pot.
Also, I have a very small inner city garden so every spot counts.

You could possibly water in a very strong Citrox solution, then wait a few months for it to naturally decompose and grow something easy as a test before re-planting with anything valuable.
I'm sure someone else will have a better idea, but that's a bump for your thread anyway!0 -
thanks that's a decent idea.:AA/give up smoking (done)
