OK Help: Dyson / Miele / Sebo? Which Vacuum Cleaner??

Hello all

Ive just spent two nights reading about vacuum cleaners as my DC05 has finally conked out. I know I can get a spare part on ebay but right now I need a new vacuum as I have 3 kids which means vacuuming the downstairs at least twice a day

I have read the Which best buys and am currently looking at the Miele S4211. But I'm equally interested in the dyson dc14 which comes with the 5 year guarantee. Ive had a Dyson for the last 5 years or so and have been happy with it but yes, the hose did split and the pipe or whatever its called did crack so im ready for a new brand if it's better.

I also like the Sebo K3 Premium but really dont want to spend more than £150-£170.

Can anyone help me decide between the above three please? thank you!

Virtual chocolate winging its way to you now! :p

I haven't heard of the Sebo, but I've had both Miele and Dyson.
First bought Miele a long time ago and it lasted years, but I decided to go for a shiney new Dyson - mistake, plastic bits cracked and I hated emptying the thing, it's now my 'spare' and I went back to Miele. I'm really pleased with it, got the 'Cat & Dog' model which takes disposable bags and picks up cat hair ! even the lead rewinds better than the Dyson did. If I was buying again I'd go for the German brand.

I too had a Dyson which kept cutting out because it overheated, also had bits of plastic break off it.

Since then I was given a second hand Miele 300-1600W variable power cylinder and I think it is a much more reliable machine.

If/when it breaks I'll definitely go Miele again.

[Edit} the machine is about 5 years old and the cable rewind still works as new!

From the ones you mention I would go for the Miele.

I have a Henry though and wouldn't part with it for anything.;)

Thank you all. I settled for a Miele S4211 as that was a best buy and I manage to get it at around £110! I can't wait to receive it! :j
