Window Sill boards

Inspired by another thread on here...Does anyone know if you can fit wooden or MDF (internal) window sill boards over plastic/ UPVC ones? We have some rubbish thin and badly fitted UPVC ones in our bay windows, and I'm not sure I'd get them out without doing too much damage...and I haven't the budget to fork out for new windows yet. However, I was wondering if I could overlay a better window sill over the top for now? Ideally I'd like wood or wood effect MDF with more of a lip....so that it would hang over the original.

If yes, what would I fix them with, and would it cause any issues like condensation/ damp?

Thanks :)

Were the upvc ones just placed on top of the existing sills or did the original wooden sills come out? Can you cut the existing upvc lip off as you might have a job covering it. Any "grab" adhesive should be ok to fix new boards and then silicone the gaps. Shouldn't cause any damp or condensation. Can you post a pic?
