Dogs Trust £25 Third Party Liability Insurance

Covers you up to 1 million for only £25 a year regardless of number of dogs.
Ideal now the legislation (Dangerous Dogs Act) has extended from only public places to private land too. This means if your dog scratches, jumps up and knocks over or bites anyone that you are covered for claims

This is actually a membership scheme and the insurance is just one reward for membership. It covers all your dogs so is not a price per dog. The cost also drops to £12.50 pa when you hit the dreaded six -oh, so I will sign up in just over a month. Another perk which could be just as useful is the 24 hour veterinary advice line for inquiries about any species [other than Homo Sapiens]. Thank you pawsies this is just what the animal doctor ordered.
edit: also there is piece of mind knowing Dogs Trust will take your dogs after your deathLife is like a box of chocolates - drop it and the soft centres splash everywhere0 -
I think this insurance is actually essential now with the change in the law. Become a supporter, get the insurance and donate to charity at the same time. (And hopefully we won't be making any claims)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

It's worth mentioning that both pet insurance and household contents will cover your third party liabilities, so if you have either of these there is no need to get anything extra.0

I think you will find that household insurance might cover you. A quick read of resume of main points of mine (on line a minute ago) did not mention public liability at all.
I don't have pet insurance..never have done, never plan to.... so Dogs Trust membership for me is perfect.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

It's pretty standard. It's under the section called personal liability (not public).0

Its not pretty standard and depends where your dog is/what you are doing.
Any standard cover under another policy (including normal pet insurance) usually does not cover:-
- dogs at work
- dogs at training/socialisation/agility classes
- dogs being walked by people other than the owner
- dogs being walked by an employed person (dog walker/au pair)NOT a NEWBIE!
