Asda - 3 Burner Gas Barbecue..Bargain!!

Morning,

Bought a 3 Burner Gas Barbecue yesterday from Asda in Caerphlly, £120 price shows on box then went down to £90 but dropped again on Saturday to £67.50. Have built it and is a very strong BBQ..takes a good hour to stet up though..

Bit like this BBQ from B&Q...

    Hi PrincessKerry
No the 3 Burner Gas BBQ was in the £80mark, and the 2 burner was in the £60ish mark at B&Q... checked in B&Q before i bought the Asda one.

Hopefully be able to testout this weekend...hopefully.
  • It looks very similar to one I bought from Argos a couple of years ago in their first RO Sale - think I paid about £25 (it was a good sale that!).

Something I think is worth pointing out is the one I got wasn't what I'd call a gas barbecue, as you can't use coals or larva rock with it - it's really a gas grill on wheels.

I was disappointed when I realised - I prefer my food cooked over coals, and you do go through a lot of gas!

We've still got it - if only this damn rain would stop we could fire it up!

    :(
  • I got a really basic gas bbq for £20 from woolworths at the beginning of the year, I also used a 20% code so paid £16.00. We have used it three times so far this year so more then had our moneys worth. Hopefully next year we will get a better model now we have got to grips with this one.

We bought that Woolworths BBQ too...it truly sucks. We've used it about 4 times....it's not powerful enough to cook anything with the lid up, put the lid down & it then gets too hot meaning the fat drips out the meat onto the hot plate below which creates a flame which charcoals the food. Each time I ended up hitting it in frustration with the kids' swingball pole.

That Woolies BBQ is a festival of suck...& I will take great delight throwing it into the skip & the local tip this weekend.

I've just bought the Sainsbury's one for £37.50 as a replacement.... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=484744 ...proper lava rock & very powerful...it (lava) rocks! The kids are happy too...they can now play swingball once again when I do a BBQ (albeit with a slightly bent pole)

    Hi Hank,

most bbqs do this, to get round it you can buy bbq tinfoil trays. Been using these for the last few years, usually a few when lidl have them in.

    Hope this helps

i have had this for over 12 months and have not used it yet...

does this take charcoal, if so do you just put it in the pan by where the gas ignites and where the heating plates are?

it's slightly different to the BBQ's i am used to, as they normally have a shelf where the coal sits on, but this doesnt and also has holes where it could fall through?

no mention of charcoal in the instructions
