Toshibas worthless warranty

Options
I bought a Toshiba Excite Pure 10" tablet for the kids as a Christmas gift in December 2013. In March 2014 the screen developed an enormous crack as I was using it to play Football legends. No accident, no dropping it on the floor or hitting it with a brick - as I swiped my finger across the screen I felt it crack and then watched it spread.
No problem I thought, that'll be covered by the 1 year warranty. However the good people at Toshiba inform me that screen damage is not covered by the warranty as that is classed as accidental damage, even if its not an accident. Apparently their screen glass is so tough that it cannot possibly just crack, it seems I have imagined the whole thing.
They did offer to repair it at a cost that was only £100 more than I paid for the tablet in the first place but I declined in hope of a more tempting offer.
So take heed Toshiba tablet owners, don't accidentally crack your screen by using it for what its intended for. And if there's anyone out there who's had a similar experience please let me know.

This comes with Gorilla Glass, you would do well to crack it with your finger, i'm not surprised by Toshiba stance. Maybe someone dropped it at a previous time and damaged/weakened the screen (a bit like when you get a stone chip on a windscreen and it only takes a speed bump for the whole screen to crack)

Your argument would be with the retailer who sold it to you.
