Has anyone been to Portrush recently?
My parents are going to Portrush at the beginning of next week and theywould like to go to the Giants Causeway but what else is there to do and see inthe area? They are staying overnight and their accommodation is booked already. Has anyone any money saving tips, like buying tickets in advance etc.? Any recommendations on where to eat?

Buy a main, get a starter and desert free :money:
The Cliff walk, Portstewart is nice to do.
As is a walk out round Ramore Head.0 -

Highly recommend the Ramore Wine Bar /Harbour Bar to eat in, was voted best restaurant in Northern Ireland and is consistently good.0

55 degree north offer seems to be on all the time, it will be advertised outside, you can get all 3 courses for £10 if you buy the cheapest main course offer. I also love the Ramore, but hate the cattle market charge and stampeed to get to the bar to order, not great if you have kids, but the food is top notch.
I love Portrush myself, great for walks and fresh air and a lot has been done in recent years to tidy it up, even a walk along the prom in a blustery wind can put a smile on my face.I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
For a coffee and a cake that little cafe just below 55 north on the path overlooking the east strand is very acceptable...0

Cafe called?
I don't know :-(
But it's hard to miss it, hanging over the sea like that, with a children's playground right next door....
<edit> got it, Arcadia:

Last week, 8 of us attended the NW200 motorbike races. The circuit runs through Portrush. Apart from damp weather, we had 3 enjoyable days in the area. The National Trust run Giants Causeway now charge £8.50 per head car park+vistor centre+causeway fee. You can park in Bushmills nearby and take bus, or park some distance away and walk. National Trust members get in free. Have a read here http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractions-g186471-Activities-County_Antrim_Northern_Ireland.html0
