Docrafts bad customer service

A couple of weeks ago I opened up a pack of 'Anita's' Die Cut Message Tags to use on some card making. When I took the 2nd sheet out of the pack I saw that it had been very badly die cut, so the whole sheet was completely unusable.
I'd bought this pack about 18 months ago, prior to a move & then a long hospital stay, from an internet retailer, but as I use so many different retailers, I couldn't remember exactly who I'd bought it from. So I decided to send it to Docrafts themselves to see if they could send me a replacement sheet.
Well, a fat lot they care about customer service, I've received a letter telling me that these tags are no longer made & that anyway it is not their responsibility to exchange any imperfect items that they have supplied to a retailer!
The letter didn't even contain an apology for me having purchased something that was totally unusable & that their quality control failed to pick up on. You'd have thought they might at least even made a token gesture & enclosed a voucher to get say £1 off of a future purchase of any Docrafts product, but no, not from this stingy & customer unfriendly lot.
I shall do my best to avoid buying Docrafts products in future. With the craft industry having suffered a bit of a roller coaster ride in the recession & a couple of major players going bust, you would imagine that customer service was at the forefront of Docrafts business model, but sadly it isn't.

The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Technically they are correct, your contract is with the retailer, they have no obligation to refund or replace. Although a small gesture would have no doubt gone a long way0

Goods found to be faulty after 18 months?
Even if you could remember who sold the stuff to you, I cannot believe you would expect them to do anything.0 -

The craft industry as a whole is very buoyant.
And as said before, DoCrafts owe you nothing, you didn't buy it from them, you don't have a contract with them. It's not their fault you can't remember who you purchased it from!Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
for what these must of cost you, i would of just cut your loses and saved yourself the inconvenience of complaining unless you have alot of time on your hands!0

The issue you have with any die cut sheets is that the majority have to be cut out slightly.
That is why they sell scalpels in all card making shops. You just put the card on a cutting board and use the scalpel to go over where the die hasn't cut properly.
It is not Rocket science.0
