16A Socket

+1 for a qualified spark installing a 16A line and ceeform socket where you need it - this isn't something you should be bodging or trying to 'get by' with a domestic 13A socket, or alternatively get the spark to replace the element in the device to have a lower power requirement and heat up slower.0

As above, 3.2kW (14A) or even 16A won't blow a 13A fuse this side of hell freezing over so if it's an infrequent use bit of kit then I'd stick a good quality (MK or similar) 13A plug on and give it a go.0

Why not just put two 13A plugs on it and plug it into a double socket?
This is not a serious suggestion!0 -

For anyone that can't read white text :rotfl: the reason you can't put two plugs on it is that if only 1 plug is in the socket, then the other plug will be dangling with exposed live pins.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
The converter will have a 13A plug in it (max). With everything running at the same time you will be looking at 14. something amp (if my maths is correct) Dedicated ciruit is probably the best way forward0

I wouldn't, not now with sleeved pins which seems to reduce the current-handling abilities of most plugs. Also this heater is likely to be used for extended periods. Such an appliance isn't intended or suitable for use on a ring final circuit and a dedicated circuit is essential.
The 16A socket fitted should be one where there is an interlock to prevent the socket being live without a plug in it. Every socket-outlet for household and similar use shall be of the shuttered type and, for an a.c. installation, shall preferably be of a type complying with BS 1363. (Rule 533.1.100 BS7671: The IET Wiring Regulations 17th Edition); using an interlock socket could be justified as a deviation from the Regulations as providing a similar level of safety.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
