Fitting window blinds into recess

I am looking to upgrade my wooden window blinds to ones which are made to order and can be fitted into the recess of the window rather than outside of it.
The problem is the handles on the bog standard double glazing that I have, as they protrude away from the surface of the windows.
I think it would still work to install the blinds, even though the outer edge would not be flush with the window frame but extend beyond it by a cm or 2.
has anyone else dealt with this issue?

Line the window with window boards deeper than the recess, to create a box which outsets from the wall all round, like the sill here but all the way round, to give you enough depth to fix the blind inside the recess
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
