No hot water on first floor

Hi
I just want to know if anyone can help on this please.
I have an old boiler, we bought the house last year and did not change the boiler so we do not know how old it is.
Problem we have is that we get really hot water on the ground floor although there is just one source in kitchen but on the first floor we sometimes get hot water and other times dont. The pressure bar on the system are in green.
Can some one please suggest what could be wrong and is it anything I could do or get a professional to come in.
Cold water pressure in the house is really good in our house so can not be anything to do with cold water.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

The only time I had this problem was when our bath/shower mixer lever, the one to change between the shower or bath, was left halfway, so no water was coming out but the hot tap was left on. It wasn't drawing water from the boiler so no sign it was on, but was stopping hot water coming out anywhere else upstairs, downstairs was fine.
Long shot but thought I'd share just in case.
