In short, the OP's swords sound perfectly legal to sell.

On Gumtree even my legal straight bladed decorative (ie not sharp) swords were removed and I got a warning about selling weapons.

It was more of a bad joke than a serious suggestion. :D

The trouble is that buyers of swords will be militaria specialists and Japanese specialists .... not "commemorative tat" traders.

If they are like Lot 108 in this catalogue, then it seems this auction house have been happy (last year) to sell these items ... so ask them.

For private sales of original swords this is one possible site. http://www.swordforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?171-Antique-Classifieds-%28Non-business%29

  • They were both made by Wilkinson Sword (and no they are not razor blades). If they were tat I would gladly take them to the nearest charity shop.
