Hi,
The screws in an internal door have rusted and snapped off.
The door is now hanging off its hinges.
Is there any quick way for me to rehang it without putting a new hinge on?
Thanks

If the old screws have snapped off and half is still in the screw hole you either have to drill them out and then use new screws or you move the hinge to a new position and drill new holes and rescrew the hinge.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Thanks, drill them out - how did I not come across that searching online! Dumbo0

You will be very lucky if you manage to drill out rusty screws. The drill will slip off the screw and drill down the side in the wood. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

If there is anything left of the head (or the shank) of the screw(s) you might be able to get a small pair of mole grips on them, enough to unscrew them. This can work, sometimes.0

If mart.vader's solution does not work and you are left with the drill out the screws option, I really think that moving the hinge to a new position is by far the easier option, you only need to move it down the door 1/2" then fill the cut-out left behind. To be honest I would find this quicker than drilling out too.YNWA
