Samsung Z500 bluetooth problems

Hi all
Not sure if this is in the right place, but here goes.
My OH has just been given a Samsung Z500 phone, as she wanted one with a camera (God knows why! ).
It's been unlocked to take a T-Mobile SIM and seems to work OK except for the bluetooth.
When I launch the Bluetooth application on the PC, it will find the phone, but "Service Discovery" always fails and I can't seem to transfer and new ringtones to her phone.
The dongle works OK to transfer to my phone, so I know it is working.
Anyone any ideas on how to fix this?

are you sure the bluetooth discovery is set to visable on the phone?
main menu > settings > connectivity > bluetooth > My phone’s visibility. make sure it is set to on0 -
Checked it's on and infra-red is off just in case it interfered.
The bluetooth app on the PC will find the phone, just not connect.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

you are actually clicking on the icon of the phone so it goes yellow and then start service discovery?0
-
I click on the large orange ball in the middle and is starts to discover devices.
It will pick up my other half's phone and put's it on the screen
If I then double-click on the phone, it starts trying to discover services, waits for ages and then decides it can't discover any or there is an error.
If I use my phone, I can do the same thing, but certain icons go yellow at the top of the screen and I can port files across as normal.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

looks like you will have to transfer the ringtones onto your phone and then bluetooth them to her from your handset. that works doesnt it?0

it sounds like you have bluesoleil (sp?) installed on your computer.
enable bluetooth device descovery under my bluetooth (on the computer) , and scan for the computer on the phone and start the pairing process from the phone0 -
Done that and the phone finds the computer - still won't connect though.

Found out (for a £5) that it's not just my computer that freezes. Went into a mobile shop, explained the problem to them and they had the same problem (frozen computer). I did find out, however, that I can port files between my phone and hers, so it's not a problem (apparently) with the bluetooth chip.
Anyone any ideas on sorting this out?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

the above shows many users (mostly with motorola razr phones, althoughsome with samsung z) experiencing the same problems. There appears to be a very complex solution which involves upgrading the firmware of the phone. Have a look0
