Amazon issue....seller no longer registered

Hi guys, I've read the sticky and tried to find an answer in the FAQ's, but have found nothing similar to my issue.
Our old wooden garden table and chairs were on their last legs, having been 'repaired' by me a few times! We decided to have a look for a replacement and wanted a rattan sofa set of some description, for as cheap as we could get it , obviously!
Now, it's rare that my wife and I agree on anything, but we found a corner set called 'maze Barcelona' on google, and then set out to find it for the best price we could.....it ranged from £1500 (which was too much for us) to £900 ( which was still over budget, as we didn't want to spend much more than £500-£600). I googled like a mad thing for a while, before checking what amazon had to offer. Bingo!
They had it advertised for £899, but available from other sellers (mega goods store) for £260+£30 delivery....result!
Now, I'm the biggest cyclic out there, don't often get caught out, and am a firm believer in the saying that ' if it looks too good to be true, it probably is'! I did as much due diligence as I could, checking all the feedback (very good) and using google to check for scams etc by this company......nothing looked out of place and they looked legitimate.
We bought and paid for it, and received an order confirmation, followed a couple of days later by a dispatched note and a delivery date of between 6th and 29th of May.That's when I checked the storefront again and it said that mega goods store was no longer part of amazon!
In the meantime, with the money we 'saved', we spent about £450 on decking materials and cuprinol to spruce up the ageing pergola and scabby patio and make it look lovely for the new suite. Anyway, a couple of days ago (I'm still checking the storefront everyday), the negative feed backs started rolling in.......uh oh, I thought, and the nagging doubts that I'd been having started jabbing me in the head, saying I told you so!
Now, I know that the 29th is not here yet, and it might still be delivered by tuffnells (who nothing of it), but it's not likely.
Sorry for all that, but here comes my question!
Amazon still have the maze rattan Barcelona set on their site for £899.... Can I ask then to send me one of those? I am just starting to understand the whole 'marketplace' thing......but to my way of thinking, amazon are the retailer and the company that I purchased from, no?
I looked on amazon, found what I wanted and paid, doesn't look like I'll get it, but they still have the same thing for sale on the same page(albeit with a different price), so shouldn't they honour the deal?
I feel like I may be clutching at straws, but my total spend is now just over £700, and even though I'll probably get a refund of the £290, I'm not going to be able to get something similar for that.....
Sorry for the long post, I felt the background info was needed to explain my thoughts!

No, unfortunately you can't make them send you the higher priced one - all you can do is get the money back that you paid.0

But you didn't buy from Amazon, you bought from an idependent 3rd party who was selling through Amazon.
You may have had the opportunity to buy direct from Amazon but chose the cheaper, riskier, option (although I appreciate you did take steps to mitigate that risk)

Unfortunately, there have been several threads on here recently regarding problems with sellers on Amazon.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Amazon aren't the retailer.... it's like your local market day - you go and there are stalls all laid out, you buy something from the stall, but you can't take the goods back to the Council offices if they're faulty.0

Thanks guys.... It's as I thought, but I hoped someone might have a little loophole they could let me know about!
Oh well, checking the small ads as we speak!0 -

may help you get your money back, but there is a process you'll need to follow
