So, the same as others it seems, I've received a county court claim for a parking fine that I received for overstaying on the 6th of april last year, I only stayed 1 hour 26 minutes, and I actually did shop at coop at the time
The overall claim is for £215, any way of defending this?
Thanks

Yes there is a way of defending this, and others will help you on that. Can I ask when did you get the claim form?
On the coop you need to make complaints there as you have had a claim in their car park, they are paying CEL to stop small claims, so make those complaints to head office , attach a copy of your claim form to the email and demand that they sort it outWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Something like this except worded a bit stronger. Include a scan of the claim, and your membership details of the co-op.
Dear Mr Murrells,
I have been a member of the Co-op for x years and spend approx. xxx per annum. On xx/xx/20xx spend xxx during a large shop, but incurred a parking charge notice from CEL. I have now received a county court claim from them.
Can you please contact CEL on my behalf and ask them to withdraw their claim against me, since I am a member of the Co-op and a genuine shopper?New members, please refer to "sticky" threads that are alwasys "stuck" at the top of this forum0 -
thank you kindly0

No wonder the co-op are in difficulty with scum scammers like CEL deliberately pulling fast ones to rake the cash in, shame on the co-op for hireing them, wonder if this was duscussed at there recent meeting?PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0

I would hope they'd be informing any fellow retailers about the joys of sharing a bed with CEL!Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

How long do the coop take before replaying to emails?0

Have you formulated your defence yet? You cannot lose sight of the fact that you must respond to a county court claim otherwise you may get a default judgement against you .When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you.
