how many bikes will fit in a 3ft wide bike storage shed

Hi,
Thinking of getting a shiplap bike storage shed.

Looking online they all seem to be about 7x3ft or 7x4 ft.

Anyone got any of these and can give me real life experience of how much fits in a 7x3ft? We have 3 kids with 3 kids bikes that need to leave the garage.

Any tips would be welcome.

PS Would also appreciate some advice on a supplier. Ive looked at tiger sheds and gardenbuildingdirect. Both have variable feedback on mse. The latter has some very poor reviews

Best thing to do would be to stagger them opposite to one another

    eg:
    I--
    --I
    I--
so you only really need it as wide a two handlebar widths :)
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful

I have this one from Tiger Sheds in the 7x3 size. I've got a fair bit of stuff in it, plus 1 adult mountain bike. I think you could get 3 bikes in just fine, but if you have the space maybe go for the 7x4 to be on the safe side. Maybe try stacking them together and measure?
  • A possible alternative could be the Lockerpod+, they fit 4 bikes in and take up less floor space than a shed.

    There is a 5% voucher code MYCRIME2014.

I've seen one, but not used one, there should be some reviews online

    thanks,

Looked at Lockerpod. Damn they are ugly. Side opening is a problem for us. In addition they are not cheap. We need to store some cheap halfords bikes so not looking to overspend.

Top tip from scottishblondie. I stacked them and measured. 3ft just about fits the bikes. There will be a bit of room at the sides for helmets etc, so I think it is the 3ft one we will go for.

What is the tiger shed one like for quality etc?

    TIA

The one I have is perfectly fine. The lock is a bit of a weak point as it's not really quality - I fitted 2 hasps with padlocks top and bottom to use instead as it felt like it could break with a lot of use.

purchased a 7x3ft bike shed from tiger shed.

    Self installed, painted etc.

    Easy enough to make.

Very happy, feels strong. Easily fits 3 bikes
  • Hi,

you could maybe hang them, I hang my bikes in winter when not used, as the tyres tend to crack if left sitting in same position all winter.
