That is if you can get the site to load

Been down since before 9pm --- so loads of auctions ending at bargain prices

Can imagine lots of happy buyers :j
and lots of unhappy sellers

I am one of those exceedingly !!!!ed off sellers. Just said goodbye to 4 auctions for around £30 that should have made £70. I am livid.

Not sure if eBay uk servers are hosted in Ireland - but they had thunderstorms heading there earlier, so maybe they are suffering from a power outage

I believe you can still cancel sales. Certainly you can cancel bids. I'm sure ebay will have some sort of procedure for this kind of situation.
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!

They haven't as far as I know and never perform well in a crisis, whether of their own making or not.
There's no way to cancel a sale or bids after an auction has ended.

Unfortunately that is not the case. Firstly you cant cancel bids if the site is down, and you certainly can't refuse to sell if your item ends too low due to issues with ebay. Even when ebay went into meltdown for business selelrs with shops and cost some thousands of pounds- they basically did nothing but faff about.

There is another thread here about it

That was of their own making too, this current issue is not even their fault. Going on past experience they'll try and ignore it and then offer free relists for anyone who had items in that period that didn't sell.
I still go into meltdown when I think of all the shop listings they cancelled "accidentally". I had a call from customer services who left me a message asking me to call back, I did and spoke to someone who never knew anything had happened. I lost any respect I had for Ebay at that time.

On the Ebay discussion boards, one seller says he has been told by Ebay CS to cancel the sale and relist the item. Bet he gets a big fat defect !
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
