Housing Benefit Entitlement?

Hi all,
I have a quick question as I'm being made redundant in June. I'm renting a house at the moment, but I also have a buy to let property in another part of the country. Does anyone know if I'll be able to claim housing benefit while I'm renting, or if the BTL (tenanted for at least another 8 months) will mean I can't claim anything? I don't make much from it, it's more of a future retirement plan.

It would depend on the income from rent & also the equity.
I'm not an expert on exactly how it's calculated- but there are some on the benefits forum. You might get some words of wisdom from some of them on there if you posted there.0
