Why is it that when i post a thread on this message board i only get maybe 1 reply ??Surely someone out there knows about care allowance !!. I refer to a question i asked on friday last week . Lots of people out there with advice so is this a closed shop or what.! Jim

Firstly, people may be afaid of answering as benefits are a very situation specific set of circumstances. Have you approached CAB regarding your personal situation? If not approach tomorrow as they provide some of the most unbiased info available.

Secondly if this is an ill-informed decision please give us more info....we are there to support you/advise you so please stick with us !!!

I answer any post which I think I can offer something relevent.

If someone has given a perfectly good response and I don't know they are wrong then I wouldn't add anything. Usually people respond and ask further questions if they need more info.

No closed shops here as far as I am aware.

Sorry but I have to ask if you realise that this is a community? All of your posts are you expecting advice, you haven't tried to help anyone else. This web forum is about give and take amongst regular people, some of whom have specific experience in an area or two.

Whilst most people will willingly post if they know the answer to a specific question, those that don't know exact information are more willing to work it out or help you look it up if you've made friends on here by giving as much as you take.

Even if all you can do is offer some sympathy sometimes and take the time to read other people's posts it is still a way of becoming part of the community. If it is just advice you're after without participating in return then you should try the CAB.

I can say that I received a lot of help from this formum when I was trying to help my sister. Sometimes one answer was enough, sometimes several replies helped. One thing is certain, you don't get ignored.
