Afternoon! Innit hot?!
I had a loan a few years ago with Endeavour Personal Finance, who i found out (through this forum) that they became part of the HSBC group. I filled in the form and sent a few bits and pieces to them (the PPI box was electronically ticked already on the loan application form). They have since written back to me to say that they wont be persuing my claim as it appears I went through an insurance broker (Portfield Finance - I should say that all this was arranged through a personal financial advisor). Where do I stand here, are HSBC still liable or should this Portfield comapny be looking into it for me? Oh and I now cant find anything on the web relating to this company.
Please can anyone help?
Many Thanks

If you bought the insurance through a broker then it has to be the broker you complain to. If this finance was before 2005, though, you are wasting your time as the company won't have been regulated. If the company no longer trades, you might be able to get compensation from the FTSC-but again this pre-supposes that the finance was after January 2005.They have since written back to me to say that they wont be persuing my claim as it appears I went through an insurance broker

That isnt really possible. What usually happens is that the PPI is agreed or not before the form is printed and the form reflects what was agreed.I should say that all this was arranged through a personal financial advisor
So, why did you complain to HSBC?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
