Parking Charge Notice from Excel Parking

What a way to ruin a great day.

On May 8th I pulled into an Excel Car Park to find a parking space. Whist driving to find a space I received a call, took the call in their car park but decided to park next door because Excel didn't give long enough for the money you paid them.

I today received a parking fine.

Do I pay it and appeal or just pay it. Who would I appeal to, is it Excel n the first instance:sad::sad::sad::sad:?

This is awful. How can they do this? Would they have fined me if I had gone in and come straight out within a minute of entering?

Your help is very much needed.

If you pay it first, then you can no longer appeal it. So the process is to appeal it. The steps to appeal are described in the newbies thread which is stuck to the top of the post listings. Have a read, then come back here if you have any questions.

Thank you for your reply. Are you familiar with this organisation? Bearing in mind my circumstances have I got no chance in winning an appeal and therefore should pay the fine? I simply took a call, I can't see it ever being upheld.

If I appeal and lose, how much would I have to pay? Right now it stands at £100 reduced to £60 if I pay now.

Many of the people on the forum are experienced with Excel. You need to read the link I gave you. The appeals are best done on common legal grounds, and not on the particulars of your own circumstance. This is explained in the link. The vast majority of appeals, if done the right way as described in the link, are successful.

But we don't lose - please read the NEWBIES thread. We have 100% appeal win rate for over a year at POPLA.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Sorry...mild rant.

Going to read through the information you mentioned now and then I'll come back here.

    Thanks again

I got a PCN from Excel a couple of years ago. I had not been in the place they said I was (they enclosed a photo of my car) on the day they said I was there.

I wrote and told them I had proof I was elsewhere at the date and time stated and that I was happy to see them in court.

I did get a couple more letters over the ensuing months which I ignored and never heard another word from them afterwards.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Yep but a couple of years ago would have been pre-POFA2012, and before POPLA (which we always win v Excel).

    Hi

Could someone tell me what Parking Eye is please? I keep seeing it in the 'Parking Ticket, Fine & Parking' posts. I'm about to compile my POPLA appeal and wanted to be sure about what I was writing.

    Thanks in advance folks.

ParkingEye (PE) are another private parking company. Essentially irrelevant to your case - given that you are dealing with Excel. PE are particularly litigious whereas Excel are not.

You only need to concentrate on the appeals templates - as far as your own case is concerned. :)
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
