Scared about credit check

My partner and I have applied to rent a flat we are just waiting to hear back from our credit/ref check. We don't have any CCJ's and haven't been bankrupt......I ordered a copy from experian and found there is a default from 2009 will this make an impact on a credit decision are we likely to fail now?

Landlords can only currently access the public information on your credit report, such as CCJs and bankruptcies, so the default won't be visible.
