Use the intervening time profitably by reading up on how to construct a winning POPLA appeal (post #3 in the NEWBIES sticky) as the more you understand this stuff, the better you'll be able to deal with it. We'll always be here to help along the way.

PS - have never been called a 'real expert' before. :rotfl: Far from it, just got involved in the forum when helping one of my own some 18 months ago and decided to stay on for the ride. But glad to be able to help where I can.

You're right about Coupon, though - a national treasure. :T
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

  • Thanks and i will continue doing my research in prep for the POPLA case.

I wish i hadn't sent the complaint to the shopping centre now as as the keeper i could potentially of let them know that im aware? i guess they will only have to send the NTK anyway and i only sent this complaint to the shopping centre following the advice on the flow chart in the newbies section so i guess i cant really go wrong! I doubt the shopping centre will pass on this email, they will either get it cancelled for me or they will reject it and say i have to deal directly.
  • Sorry guys can i just ask a couple of further questions:

    - this is a silly question im sure, i wasnt parked in a space so it was my fault i got a ticket - i take this makes no difference and the whole "its just an invoice" still applies and they can !!!!!! off?

    - secondly and more importantly, ive carried on reading loads about this this morning and ive read a few threads which state that UKPC have never sent out the NTK and that its gone straight to the debt collection stage? is the advice still to wait for the NTK or perhaps appeal before hand, the trick here seems to be POPLA and i dont want to miss out on the chance to beat them here?

UKPC do send out a NTK so no worries about waiting a month or so for it. And it's not your fault about the 'ticket' they can still f off!

Thanks Coupon-mad, i just read a couple of UKPC threads earlier where people didnt ever receive their NTK so dont want to be one of those people as its seems to then really complicate the POPLA process with timings etc.
  • Just to keep all that have helped in the loop - the shopping centre have contacted me back today and confirmed they are going to cancel the charge as a gesture of goodwill on this occasion (!!!) and that following my complaint they are putting up more notices around the centre (!!!).

I'm pleased it hasn't gone any further than this simply because it would have been unnecessary hassle but i would like to say a BIG thanks to those who have advised and helped.

I think I'd write back to the shopping centre, thank them for their intervention and say that as a gesture of goodwill, on this occasion (!!!), you just might continue to patronise their facility.

What happened to 'the customer is King'. !!!!!! do they think they are?
