Question Re ignoring until receiving NTK

Morning all,
I've been doing some research into beating a parking ticket. I'm about to complain to the retail park to try this route first but from the advice i keep reading here i should be ignoring the ticket until i receive an NTK in the post.
a few questions:
- if i ignore the ticket the charge goes up after 14 days, am i not at risk for a higher charge if i wait up to 28 days for the NTK?
- secondly the registration plate they entered on the ticket is wrong by one digit so they aren't going to find my vehicle with the DVLA, the incorrect reg. they have entered doesnt exist but they will soon spot their mistake by looking at the pics they took. If i receive this after 28 days is it null and void?
- lastly the BPA website shows them as a registered company with them and that they have ANPR etc. If i act ignorant as not being the driver could they not potentially use photo / video evidence from the car park to show me as the driver?
im just concerned at what sort of money / issues i would be looking at this if i tried to fight it but then ended up in a corner?
Thanks,
Chris

If they are using ANPR which they probably are not if you received a window ticket, it will have caught your number plate not the occupants of the vehicle.
They don't play by any rules and will have photos of your car, so will soon realise their chimps mistake, though they sometimes do this on purpose to trap you into a failed attempt at appeal to the window ticket.
Your other questions are readily answered in the sticky threads as already suggested.0 -

Thanks, i have read that sometimes they do this so that people contact them and give all their details meaning that they dont have to go via the DVLA.0 -

So it would seem, and identify yourself as the driver in the process!0 -
i've sent the shopping centre an email complaining (was careful not to make it look like i was the driver) and also copying the template from the newbies section for the stage 1 saying this is what hassle will be entered unless they can cancel it for me as a regular customer blah blah...
Im going to give it a day or so for them to reply and if no reply / success then i am still in plenty of time to appeal and will send this letter over to to UKPC who are members of the BPA OAS and it seems i stand a good chance of beating through POPLA.
Am i correct in thinking im OK in surrendering my name and address etc. so long as it is clear that i am the keeper and wasnt the driver?0 -
Have you received the NtK yet? You do really need to wait for that as it gives you more protection as the RK under PoFA 2012. The only time we advise a pre-emptive strike ahead of this is if the PPC is one a small band of bit-part operators.
Oh, by the way, forget about any 'discount' - your aim is to be paying nowt, and with our help, that's exactly what you will be 'paying'.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

You are OK to include this in your complaint but really there is no point appealing until you get the NTK.
There is NO DISCOUNT WORTH LOOKING AT! The 'charge is nothing so it doesn't 'go up'. You'll pay nothing so stop taking the silly bribe into account!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks guys - from reading all the info threads you two seem like the real experts. I have sent the complaint to the shopping centre incl. the potential letter for the PPC company. Im sure they will not forward this on and will probably say i need to take it up with them - at this point i will do nothing until i receive the NTK and then i will go from there. Thanks for all your help thus far0 -

No, the NTD was only put on the windscreen on saturday so its going to be a long wait before the NTK comes and then i will send the stage 1 letter from the newbies section. If this is rejected them i will go down the POPLA route - hoping it doesnt get this far.0
