remove password on Windows server 2008

All the info I'm finding is for administrators, wondering if anyone knows how to do it on a user account level.
When I first logged in (Remote Desktop Connection) there was an option to save the password. Unfortunately I typed it in wrong so it's always trying to log in with the wrong password. Now I can't find a way to remove the saved password.
Can an ordinary user reset it or does it have to be done via an admin account?

Is there some reason you can't ask the server admin to do it for you? I'm sure whever I've tried with the wrong password though I've just been prompted to enter it again with the Microsoft RDP client and I'm sure you can change the options, including the password before you tell it to connect even if it has been saved.0

If you've saved the RDP file somewhere on your machine, I'd just delete it and start again (you might be able to edit it, but I'm not sure).
I've done this before with no issues.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
How are you accessing the RDP connection?
If you see a window that has the server address and your user name then is there a little down arrow that says 'show options'
If there is, click this and then look for a link that says 'you can EDIT or DELETE these options'
Clicking delete will offer a window that says 'are you sure?' then you can log in from the start again.
Post back if your screen shows different options.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks for the comments.
re: ask admin - issues like this are usually considered too trivial & either not dealt with or left for some time. A complicated job logging system.
I'm reluctant to delete the file in case I don't recreate it with the same settings. All the links were originally set up by the IT department. I've just linked the RDP files (2 screens) in the startup folder to save me having to start them manually every day. So I only have to log on to Windows.
On looking more closely I've noticed a message on the log in screen -
Your system administrator does not allow the use of saved credentials to logon to the remote computer ______ because its identity is not fully verified."
..so I'm guessing it's not me after all but an issue with one of the servers. Until it's fixed I guess I'll have to keep logging in to one of the screens.0
