Getting MBNA offers extended

MBNA has offered a 12mth balance transfer offer. If l phone them will l able to get them to increase it to more months, eg 18 or 24mths? Any1 else ever successfully tried this? If not l'll try another card. I have a little balance l'm paying interest on elsewhere l would like to move it into the MBNA. There is enough credit limit left on the card. Thanks.

Highly doubt it. If they wanted to offer you any more, they will have offered you more when you applied.

You can try, but I doubt it's worth your time.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

I disagree. Sometimes you can get better deals. I rang MBNA some 5 years ago and got a better deal than what they had offered me. I think the period was the same, but I got a lower BT fee. Not needed to try since.

Some people including me have got better deals when threatening to close accounts. Barclaycard offered a great deal - 3% fee, 15months 0% APR, when I phoned to close my account. The deal that appeared on my statement was a rather typical (for Barclaycard) standard LOB 6.9%/2.5% fee deal. I closed it anyway as I didn't need to do a BT.
