This is a first for me and was wondering if this is the norm nowadays,
Bought item from Maplins thursday morning, took home charged then checked item, found item to be faulty on more than one of its functions. Returned to maplins Friday morning to explain and get a refund, no problem up to now, accepted issues and apologised, just as he gave me the receipt the chap dealing with me said your money will be credited back to you within the next ten days, I said you what, he shrugged his shoulders and said that's how it is its your bank that make you wait not us meaning maplins, I just shook my head and left.
Is this the norm now when using your debit card.

You are waiting for two transactions one out and one in.
It can sometimes take a couple of days or more for a transaction to appear on your account.
Times that by two and yes, it could take up to ten days for the money to leave your account and then the money to be refunded.
It probably won't but that's how long it could take. They have to warn you about any worst case scenario. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Yes pretty standard, they have iirc 30 days0

OP, how long do you think it took for your money to appear in Maplin's bank account when you made the purchase?
If it didn't happen instantly, weren't they trusting to let you have the goods before they got the money?0 -

You haven't made a good impression.

entitled to your own opinion
