when i claim does the six years end when i claim or when the bank settle.

please can anyone help me with claiming back my charges from the bank ( hsbc ). i have had an offer from the bank but it is less than i have worked out as when i made the claim there were 4 charges to claim but it has taken a long time for the bank to deal with it (6 months), now 3 of the charges are longer than 6 years. so the question is does the six years end when the claim is made or when the bank settles?. any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

    am afraid so.....I asked a friend of mine this question, she is a Lit solicitor, with alot of her clients who are claiming for various reasons they say claim as quickly as possible before it goes beyond the limitation act.

    The 6 years is from the time you write and ask for your money back not the time the bank settles.

    Take it to court and get your 8% interest added as £10 + 8% for 6 years (simple interest) = £14.80 thats almost 50% more in your pocket ;) and don't settle for anything less than 80% of your claim because when you win at court you get 100% plus the 8%'s and your court fees back too :)
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)
