I've considered buying one of these to blow hot air back down from our high-ceilinged living room in winter. Does anyone know if they are effective for this? Plus, how noisy are they?

    Hi
If you have a gas or solid fuel fire, stove etc, you cannot use the fan at the same time as the heating appliance.

It will cause spillage of fumes into your room and affect the draw of the flue, leading to potentially fatal consequences.

If you don't have the above, just CH, then you should be ok
