Hi not sure if posting in right bit.
I signed up with a company and received email welcoming me and will have welcome pack in post etc.
Next day @ 1.21am had email on sat from a data centre of the company asking for original council tax bill energy bill and photocopy of front of my debit card so they can process my order is this normal practice. I thought you should never copy front of debit cards. So just wondering what I should do t.i.a lis x

I'd be telling them to do one. have you googled Utility Warehouse and their customer Service?0

The details aren't anything you haven't already told them. They are just confirming it's your card and in your possession. Nothing wrong with that.0

According to their figures in 2009 they had 32000 distributors and 320000 customers. So their distributors were only signing up an average of 10 each so would not have been making any money.0 -

Why if the OP has already given them their debit card number?
If it was an AmEx card then it might be slightly different because the front also has the security code but with visa/ mastercard this is on the rear of the card so the front has nothing that you havent already given them.
Its not common practice in the UK but in some other countries it isnt that uncommon as a way of showing you do actually own the card0
