small parcel 30mm deep

Hi.

I have a small parcel 18cm x 6cm and 3cm deep

I seem to be stuck between the 'large letter' and 'small parcel' range, since a large letter is 2.5cm deep max.

Is there any alternative to my parcel being sent as a 'small parcel' ? What I mean is, any chance of a service charging around £1 rather than £2.78 minimum (myhermes) ?

I presume it's not worth me risking sending it as a 'large letter' via Royal Mail ?

Unless you can repackage it so its under 2.5cm thick, a post office won't accept it. You might get away sticking it in a post box, you might not and whoever you're sending it to may end up paying the difference.

In short, there isn't a cheaper service than myhermes.

I second what campdave says. I would add though that it isn't stuck between a large letter and small packet for RM purposes, it *is* a small parcel.

I'm not sure if everyone has the UPS special offer
Shop-to-Shop - next day, tracked, insured and signed for - 90p on the Parcl2Go site
I have used it four times and it has worked fine. Two were relative and two were repeat ebayers who I thought I could ask. I checked their postcodes and could see the Parcel shop was within 5 minutes of their house.

A great offer but for Ebay be very cautious using this service unless your buyer is happy with sending this way.

Thanks for the replies. The UPS special offer looks great but I don't feel I can ask the person. I hope long-term inexpensive options like that take off big. A real shame no-one is in the £1-£2.78 very small parcel market. I guess it may not be profitable.

I will probably go for Royal Mail small parcel via the postbox.
