Which tablet shall I buy?

I would welcome some recommendations about which tablet to buy because I am confused about it all.

I want to be able to use it to read my Kindle books and was all set to buy a Kindle Fire when someone said I should get a Samsung because they are about the same price and the Samsung is better.

I set about doing a bit if research but all I have ended up doing is confusing myself with it all. I do not want to spend as much as an I Pad would cost, so what is the best one if I want to stick to about £200 or slightly over? Oh and I do not want a huge one about 7 inch is ideal.

Thanks

Samsung galaxy tab 3. Cheap and really good, not better than an ipad though. Do not buy an ipad1 the IOS is out of date and most new apps dont support it :money:

A Nexus 7 will fit the bill as to cost. It is a good quality tablet and for any Android tablet you can download the Kindle App to let you read books.

Agree. Nexus 7 2013 is a superb tablet for the money. Good screen and ideal for reading kindle books ( indoors of course).

We have a samsung and a nexus, bought at the same time. I prefer the nexus, and it has the advantage that it runs that latest android version. The samsung is still on a much older version.

ipad mini is £219 from Tesco

    http://www.tesco.com/direct/apple-ipad-mini-16gb-wi-fi-silver/482-2411.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=482-2411

And you'd get Clubcard points and you'd be able to read Kindle books plus a whole lot more.

    I love mine.

I have an iPad Mini 2 (retina), whereas my dad has a Google Nexus 2013.

We tried comparing web speeds by checking whose loaded faster, and it was pretty even.

    You'd save money on a Nexus 2013.

Edit: I just read your post again, if it's JUST to read books, then a kindle would be fine, like this one.
Oooookay. A signature you say?............

Yes, I have one of each - Kindle for reading, Tablet for games and webbing (tablet screens are pretty poor for reading compared with e-ink readers).

Yeah I agree, I have a cheaper Nook E-reader. Nonetheless, I think the e-ink displays are fantastic compared to tablets.

Thank you everyone.Well I think I got a bargain in that I went to Tesco and looked at their own one - then I asked the chap to compare a few and ended up with a Galaxy tab 3 SM-T310. It has an 8 inch screen.

Now I need to find how to navigate around Kindle for Android. I have the app and found a book I was reading but I do not yet know how to access another book and flick between a couple of books at a time. I shall play around with it!
