APCOA PCN @ Luton Airport Appeal Advice

Hello Guys,

Great site, been reading up on PCN issued by Luton airport through APCOA and the most common way of appealing.

I had paid for parking and confused by the signs I stopped to get my bearing before parking properly.

Essentially the same situation as this thread:
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4794563

However I received a PCN dated 13/05/2014. The date we visited the airport was 26/04/2014. Because the PCN was issued over the 14 day period I believe this should be relatively easy to get cancelled?

Can I have some advice on how and who to write a letter to?
A template would be great if one exist for PCN issued over the 14 day period.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Start by having a careful read of the Newbies Sticky in this firum - This outlines your various options and what you need to do at the various stages of the process involved.

Then post back here for more help/advice when you have a draft of your challenge/appeal together. :)

They are not using POFA 2012 so they can send it whenever they feel like it, how many seconds were you there for? The current record I think is 4 seconds, we are considering a sweepstake to see who can get down to about 2 seconds, the winner gets a basket of letters from Roxburghe and Debt Recovery Plus ;)

Seriously though, just read the newbies thread by coupon mad, you'll get the template letter to send them, when they reject come back here with help going through popla to get it cancelled, everything you need is the thread I just mentioned.

I'll have look at the sticky but I was under the impression by reading a number of threads on here that the after 14 day rule was a good way of getting it cancelled, is this definitely not the case?

I wasn't there for long at all. Really ridiculous how the can get away with it, especially as I had already paid for the damn parking!!

No because they don't say there is keeper liability on the letter or the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, so the dvla has said they can do it. So they have created another tier into the mix deliberately so they can get more revenue from companies like this!

It stinks we know, and confuses the hell out of people looking at this for the first time, but we can only go on the now, in a year it may be different? In a year we may have a new government who will rid us of a public body selling our data to private companies for profit. Lets see?

Nope because at Airports, the POFA2012 doesn't even apply so there is no 14 day rule (there is no 'keeper liability' which is why it's dead easy to beat at POPLA)! That and the fact they have no legal standing/title at the Airport, and there has been no GPEOL...

This is a standard case, please follow the advice in the NEWBIES thread, send the usual first template appeal, then find a POPLA appeal tailored to your case by just searching this forum for 'POPLA Airport APCOA' as keywords. Loads of APCOA examples on here already waiting for you to search & find them!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
