When do this years Student Bank Accounts start appearing?

I need to help my two teens sort out their finances for University as both are hoping to start undergrad courses in September.
We have pretty much everything else done except opening a student bank account.
I'm wondering when this years will start appearing and when MSE does the comparison.
Anyone know? Thanks :)

They don't normally start appearing until after A-Level results come out in August. Some might start earlier, especially if they are not really changing the offer from last year. However in most cases you need to have your results before you can open one anyway.

MSE will probably update the comparison at the End of Aug/Early Sept.

Thanks for the reply - I think they will both need to put in their current bank account details then and resubmit once they have student accounts as SFE are saying they will start paying on 02/09/14 in one of the payment schedules.

That's the best thing to do, put in existing account details and change them once the student account is open.

I would hang on and choose one with benefits that are as close to cash as possible. I was given £200 for opening mine, much better than gadget insurance or whatever a lot of them try and fob you off with.

On last year's MSE Student Bank Accounts page, it say
"If you're going to university this year, even though A-level results aren't out yet (fingers crossed you get the grades), you can still apply for a student account now. "

which does suggest they were out sometime before results day :)
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end
