17 years old

Received a parking charge notice today, and plan to use the 'newbie' template.

Both the driver and registered keeper are 17 (same person, but they don't need to know that!).

What would be the best way to word this, regarding the 17 year old not being legally binding to the contract, nor being liable for debt, due to his age?

Many thanks in advance

Use the template in the newbies sticky thread to write to them, you could add at point 4 that the registered keeper is not liable as they are under 18, but it will not be considered. But before all that, is this England or Wales? And who is the parking company involved?

Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

OK - firstly forget the 17 years old bit - contrary to popular belief there are some instances then a 17 year old CAN enter into a contract. You'll get nowhere with that argument.

So G24 - one of the easiest PPCs to defeat.

Await the Notice to Keeper and then send the following as your appeal :

    Dear G24,

This is an appeal against the charge issued to the vehicle with the registration XXXXXX, charge reference XXXX.

It is the drivers assertion that :

    1. The charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss.
    2. The signage does not conform to the BPA CoP to which G24 has committed.
    3. G24 has no authority to issue charges over the land in question.

As such the charge is rejected. You should now either cancel said charge or provide a POPLA code for the registered keeper to appeal to the independent adjudicator.

Any further correspondence other than confirmation of cancellation or a POPLA code will be considered harassment and could result in legal action being taken against you.

Oh boy do I ;) I still send my weekly email about not getting my court papers and always answer my mobile when it displays "Unknown" with excitement. Strangely G24 don't seem to love me anymore as they never email, write or ring :( I feel let down and deserted. The dirty parking wh*res have found someone else to bully !!!!

Best of luck with this Critically.

It takes them between 29days and 56days to send the NTK, although most of them get them out pretty quick so hopefully this will be over and resolved for you asap!

RE: Contractual Parking Charge Notice xxxxxxxxxxxx

Further to your dispute regarding the above Contractual Parking Charge Notice, we would like to confirm that this has been waived.

No further action is required by you.
