Garden swing when only have paving

Options
Hi all

My little on really wants a swing for her birthday next month, but my garden is paved. My initial response was NO, as I won't be able to secure it down.

BUT I got thinking, surely there must be a way, but my narrow minded brain cannot find it :p

Any suggestions?

I've got pretend grass and foam squares to put underneath and all around, just in case she fell off....so not worried about that side of things.

All suggestions are welcome, thanks

its easy to drill into paving slabs to secure it. just be a few holes to fill when its removed.

I'd take up the slabs in the area and stack them in a corner of the garden for when the swing's removed in the future...... then stick down some sand.

Why not look at getting a swing seat, then the whole family can use it.

  • Thanks for the responses, the property is rented, so a bit worried about drilling in holes, but maybe taking up the slabs is the best option. Is it easy to do, ie for a women to do on her own?

depends on the size and what stone they are. we had 600x600 grey cheap concrete ones in the patio and they are very heavy!!

I would just take up the 4 where the legs need to go. Get a local handy man to do it but it's not too much of a big job but not if you haven't got a drill to do it

You might also want to get some rubber matting for underneath it as if she falls of the swing she doesn't want to be landing on concrete
